ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to helps us better understand the background to legal plurality and Kurdish current unofficial legal systems in the UK. To do this, we need to understand both the historical background to the practices of Kurds and the reactions of both the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Republic to these practices.
