ABSTRACT
The aim of this presentation is to examine models for teaching religion in public schools formulated within the Council of Europe. This examination takes into account that both the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights—through Article 9 of the European Human Rights Convention and Article 2 of the First Additional Protocol—turn certain elements of religious teaching into legal paradigms.
