ABSTRACT

The taurelaphus is an animal found in I ndia and in Ethiopia. Those in India are tarne, and are used for the transport of pepper and other stuffs packed in saddle-bags. They are milkcd, and frorn the milk butter is made. \Ve also eat their flesh, the Christians killing them by cutting their throats and the Pagans by fclling them. The Ethiopian kind, unlikc the Indian, are wild and have not been dornesticated.
