ABSTRACT
The doomed fl ight of the Avignon Curia to Perpignan and then to Peñiscola might have found expression in hyparchetype α, which could therefore have emerged after 1429, but most probably after 1415. Here, it is said that the Curia in consequence of its fl ight will be constrained and will not be able to fi nd a secure sanctuary, 852 a statement precisely matching the experience in Perpignan and Peñiscola.
