ABSTRACT
This chapter explores a number of contested and often competing perceptions and values of landscape, with regard to a coastal road upgrade, using an anthropological traditional approach. It discusses how people on the island of Malta perceive, value and identify with a particular landscape, especially when it is due to undergo further change because of proposed development.
