This chapter focuses on the important elements listed in the Investigations Plan. Use appropriate techniques to complete the investigation quickly. There are three vital aspects: good and complete documentary and computerized evidence, good and effective interviews with witnesses and suspects and selected legal actions. Keep the Investigations Plan up to date, and hold regular progress meetings with the project team. Keep in close contact with the police. Obtain orders to freeze assets and to force suspects and others to disclose the source of their wealth. On a day-to-day basis there should be close contact between investigators and the police, but a formal channel between the police and the company's lawyer should be established.
