ABSTRACT

The integrated assurance mapping was deployed at Level 3 with particular focus on a subsidiary within the group. An integrated assurance framework is already in use at the group level and the discipline was used to provide a deep dive into the risks and residual risk profile of one of its subsidiary. The report that resulted from the deep dive complemented the integrated assurance reporting at group level. The integrated assurance mapping exercise and report helped to provide the assurance that the risk assurance strategy and activities of the Group are appropriately aligned with the profile of the subsidiary. The periodic deep dives of each entity within the Group are not only a good idea but necessary for supporting the risk oversight of the Board across the Group. The organisation believes that the overall improvements in board reporting of risks and risk assurance justify the cost and effort invested in the initial exercise.
