The right to inclusive education: Practical implications in German schools

Article 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) substantiated the right of inclusive education for persons with disabilities in May 2006. In October 2008, the German federal government passed a resolution to ratify this UN Convention. The law was approved by the Bundesrat and the Bundestag in January 2009 and came into force in March of the same year.
