ABSTRACT

The impetus for many HR technology projects is to support delivery of the Ulrich model within Human resources (HR) operations. A critical objective at the outset of an HR transformation technology project is the need to establish how the solution will integrate with the overall design of the HR function. At the same time, the benefits offered by the transformation are defined in terms of service improvement and cost reduction and should be clearly articulated in the business case. Any design process should place key users and stakeholders at the heart of the activity. Many software providers can point to organizations that have implemented first-class applications in an appalling manner and failed to achieve any real benefit. The difference is in the capability of the delivery team and the programme manager. Programme managers should understand that the true value of package technology comes from the embedded business processes they contain.
