ABSTRACT

In Figure 8.1, we have progressed from Vision through Strategy, then along the top of the diagram through Drivers, Performance Indicators and Benchmarking to the setting of the KPIs at corporate level and prioritising using the COPQ. Before moving from these to the TQM ‘how to’ topics, we must retreat back to the Strategy feature and work through the Threats and Countermeasures. This is covered in this chapter and Chapter 9. When this has been completed, then the process of Hoshin Planning is over and these also may require similar treatment using the ‘how to’ tools and concepts which are the key part of the TQM complementary concept to Hoshin Kanri.
