ABSTRACT

Hutchison, Locke and Monk (HLM) have developed a unique understanding of the operational requirements of the Ministry of Defence clients and with their knowledge and experience have established an award-winning track record in shaping the Defence Estate through master planning and the design of buildings and associated facilities. HLM has always striven to be a creatively focused organisation with a firm belief that good design and architecture can enhance the quality of life and of the environment for current and future generations. HLM's close working relationship with all sections of the Armed Forces has created a deep understanding of the history and heritage on land, at sea and in the air, and has been instrumental in developing a design approach that delivers operationally led, high quality solutions that respond to current issues and future needs. HLM's vision for Worthy Down included creating accommodation in a series of 'villages': one for junior ranks, one for officers, and one for Senior NCOs.
