ABSTRACT

A given pilot’s ability to tolerate an applied G load is a function of many different factors. These include a variety of individual factors, such as dehydration and physical conditioning, for example, as well as a host of flight-related factors such as frequency of exposure and the nature of the specific flight manoeuvre being undertaken. It is important to remember that improving tolerance to G remains an ongoing task, particularly as the G ability of aerobatic and military fast jet aircraft continues to expand.
