ABSTRACT
This chapter builds on the preliminary results presented in the previous chapter on the first test of the GIA model by demonstrating which environmental factors emerge as significant predictors of active guardianship by residents. It uses refined environmental measures developed from preliminary testing reported in the previous chapter. Results will reveal which aspects of the spatial, physical, social and demographic environmental factors are most significant in determining the capability of residents to actively guard against crime in their surroundings.
