ABSTRACT

The Anglican Communion is one of the largest Christian denominations worldwide. This volume shows how it has grown and declined since 1980, based on the work of an international team of researchers, with the emphasis on the world outside the west. Overall, the Anglican Communion has experienced marked growth in recent decades. In 1970 there were around 47 million Anglicans and by 2010, there were around 86 million. 1 That figure has almost certainly increased since 2010, meaning that the Anglican Communion has roughly doubled in size between 1970 and the present.
