ABSTRACT
I met Steffi in the waiting corridor of the Hundedorf state benefit department where
we arranged the interview for later. I visited Steffi in her light and airy top floor
flat in a recently built block in a small council estate. We talked over coffee in her
conventionally furnished lounge while her three-year-old daughter played and
sometimes demanded attention.
