ABSTRACT

This chapter explains the different alternatives for the framework implementation strategy, following methods and guidelines from other management models and academic theories. The guidelines can allow the implementation of the Global Project Management Framework together with the principles of emotional intelligence (EI). Most project managers and team members have a good awareness of how to deal with cultural diversity, and a good knowledge on the set-up, coordination of and participation in online meetings via web, audio and video conferencing. Team-building exercises are common practice in project initiation phases, and most of the team knows how to take cultural aspects into account when communicating with their colleagues. More advanced communication techniques have started to be used by global project managers, with adoption from some team members. The organisation has procedures in place to support global project teams and perform the acquisition and selection of human resources across the globe.
