ABSTRACT
This chapter demonstrates how the traditional guide is replaced by an audio recording wherein the tour's producers to evoke a similar place image use sound. It shows the complexity of managing sound in the urban environment. Noise exposure maps are one way to make the topic of traffic noise transparent. In communication engineering when a message consisting of signals is transmitted, any sounds or interferences which impair its accurate transmission and reception are referred to as NOISE. Acoustic ecology has long recognized the negative effect noise can have on the listener. Frankfurt Airport is one of the largest European hubs for passenger and cargo flights. It ranks eleventh in the world in passenger numbers and ninth in cargo transportation. Audio-Guided city tours picked up the concept of museum tours established in 1952 in Amsterdam's Sedelijk Museum. The combination of sight and sound, or rather all senses for experiencing sacredness, is surely an important element for religious places.
