I understood that the Englishman brought much clothing with him for the negroes ofVallano and that when the corsair was on the isthmus he planned for this return. Further, I understood that he had with him certain persons who were to put him into communication with the negroes and that he very much regretted to hear that they were at peace with Spaniards.
