ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the possible implication of the care ethics to business ethics and social responsibility, the thought is developing through several distinctive features. The ethics of care emphasize the maintenance of relationships and their numerous commitments. In the corporate environment there's an increasing demand for business to be attentive to its many stakeholders in caring ways. Caring in different term is love, altruism and empathy. When making a link between ethics of care and corporate social responsibility, the chapter also considers caring elements as individual characteristics that promote socially responsible behaviour. It defines as discretionary decisions and actions taken by individuals in organizations to enhance societal wellbeing. The ethics of care fits more to women's psychology, since it emphasizes intimacy, caring and personal relationships, while male psychology sees morality more as a matter of justice and principle. A traditional approach to morality and ethics matches better the male way of thinking.
