ABSTRACT

This book has begun where many books on relationship management in alliances and partnerships have ended. We have described how the trend for businesses in all sectors has been towards increased diversity through networks and outsourcing. The result has been an ever-growing challenge for managers dealing with the exponential increase in strategic cultural and operational complexity. We have discussed strategic responses and examined in detail the management and understanding of relationship performance. We are able to do this because our research and practical experience enable us to say that we are experts in the field. In this final chapter, we propose that enterprise relationship management should become the critical company core competence of the future.
