ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses a warm-ups and ice breakers game that can be adapted for use on employee induction websites. The purpose of this game is to show common approaches to finding jobs and lead into discussion of co-worker concerns about how people get their jobs. Participants mark a checklist to indicate how they found and obtained their job. Distribute checklists for finding jobs to the participants. Ask them to take a moment or two and mark off any item on the list that they used in their most recent job hunt. Give participants ten minutes to mix and mingle and talk with one another, sharing and comparing how they found this new job they have. Make a large wall poster of 'Ways to Find a Job' and have the participants list different ways with drawings and illustrations. Participants can then sign their names under ways that they have used and write comments regarding those ways.
