ABSTRACT
Readers should note that this chapter is not intended to be prescriptive, but rather is intended to provide familiarization with relevant digital technology. Digital technology is evolving at a frantic pace; by the time this chapter goes to press, some of its recommendations may be out of date, and readers are cautioned to re-establish the veracity of statements concerning particular digital devices or software. Each subsection in this chapter addresses digital technology relevant to some form of emergence team activity; some activities are sufficiently broad that the technology described in more than one subsection may be relevant. Note that no particular subsection is devoted to the application of mobile technology since, given the widespread acceptance of social media, team members will be very familiar with both the technology and its potential to facilitate any of their activities. The Internet provides a rich and up-to-date source for digital information and technical reviews; readers are recommended to search there for current information prior to making important decisions.
