ABSTRACT
If you have been confused by the various and varying reports on the ‘health’ of PMOs then one piece of recent news will re-confirm that PMOs will at least stay in the limelight for some time to come. PMI® have just announced that they now ‘own’ the PMO of the Year award programme. The PMI® website states:
PM Solutions and PMI® have come to an agreement to transfer the PMO of the Year Award program to PMI® for the 2013 Award and beyond. The PMO of the Year Award is a perfect addition to PMI’s prestigious group of professional awards, and opens exposure of the program to a much larger group.
The PMO of the Year Award honors a PMO that has demonstrated superior organisational project management abilities by adding value to its organisation through its support of successful strategic initiatives. The award recognizes a PMO that has established a vision for value delivery and has had a positive and clear impact on business results.
