ABSTRACT

Most PMO implementations finish at the Deploy stage and handover into an operational mode. The job is seen as done when documentation is complete and everybody is trained. This is where the E phase makes the difference between an average PMO and a successful PMO implementation. By embedding the new processes and behaviours you are ensuring that they become an ingrained part of the business culture and by evaluating and enhancing you are demonstrating measurable success and then making it even better. If this life cycle is planned from the start you will have a head start in delivering a successful PMO and the main difference will be found in these next few stages (Table 9.1).
