ABSTRACT

This chapter pays attention to a number of highly important topics including: training, staff development and strategy implementation and the learning organization concept and organizational learning. Training and staff development programmes can be used to provide support and reassurance, in times of uncertainty. The organizational learning concept is focused on providing managers with appropriate technical and interpersonal skills, but is has a psychological dimension as well. A strategic decision was made to establish an independent organization that had a research link with an internationally renowned university, the objective being to test out ideas so that technical solutions could be implemented in real time. However, a commitment to organizational learning and a well-planned training and staff development programme can prove useful. Making staff aware of the potential problems associated with cyber attacks can be done through internal marketing and the key is to ensure that employees act in a responsible manner in order not to place the organization at risk.
