ABSTRACT

Cloud computing is an increasingly popular concept. It makes a lot of sense for organisations to use 'the cloud' as it can save costs and increase efficiency. Cloud computing can simply involve using software that is provided on remote computers. Cloud computing is important for cyber security because it is generating a change in the way that information technology (IT) professionals think about security. Computing in the cloud has a different and slightly lower risk profile. The amount of risk needs to be evaluated before deciding on whether to use a cloud service. Cloud services rely on having an Internet connection. Most cloud computing suppliers will offer excellent security and encryption. Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) involves employees using public cloud computing services such as Dropbox or Google Docs to store corporate information. The Apple cloud system automatically backs up documents and images stored on people's iPhone and iPad devices.
