ABSTRACT

Evaluate effectiveness by comparing the size of the problem after implementing solutions against the original size. This chapter reviews the problem-solving process. The problem-solving process the author's have followed is a holistic one, and it is important that the effectiveness comes from implementing the entire range of solutions. Solutions will probably interact with each other to some extent, so it is meaningless to try to make such statements as: The training accounts for 25 per cent of the improvement. People know how big the problem was initially, and now, after a decent amount of time, they can see what is happening. Hopefully, problems will be much smaller. When doing manager evaluation there are a few useful things to remember. The passage of time may have changed the factors influencing the performance, and this may have affected how well manager solutions have worked. Try to find out what these changes have been and make any necessary adjustments.
