ABSTRACT
Critical Theory was, so to speak, born practical. Its birth with Marx declared that a good theory is one that is directed at and by emancipatory practice. It is this that distinguishes Critical Theory from non-critical approaches, and it is this that is the basis for what I call Critical Theory's “non-concurrence claim.” Based on this claim I would like to address the issue of the theory/practice relationship in Critical Theory, both past and present.
