ABSTRACT

The emergent nature of the family of social media technologies often collectively labelled as Web 2.0 is generating significant interest amongst academics and practitioners in respect of the potential impacts associated with people management and corporate reputation. The main benefits of Web 2.0 is in providing the opportunity for organisations to change their business models because it helps improve and extend knowledge sharing and collaboration among employees, suppliers, contractors, and new and existing customers. Formal interactions can take the form of public relations/internal communications systems/Web 2.0, advertising and customer relationship management programmes. Building on the introduction, the emergence of Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 has stimulated considerable discussion about the potential opportunities and challenges presented by these technologies and how human resource management (HRM) can play an important role in guiding their adoption to improve business performance. Web 2.0 portal technology which acts as an engagement tool to facilitate a democratic architecture' for conversation and its subsequent thematic analysis.
