ABSTRACT

This chapter describes how people relationship with one organization commenced and evolved and some of the challenges associated with this relationship. It explores how positioning consultant/s physically inside the client organization and pairing consultants with identified positions and roles within organizations to develop longitudinal relationships can assist with facilitating change. It has a trans-disciplinary team with key focus areas in therapy, clinical support, training, clinical supervision, education and professional development, operational support and organizational development. Government funding provided to non-government organizations has meant that there has been extreme growth in some organizations and this growth has often occurred before the foundations for good practice were laid. All organizations are susceptible to different degrees of compromise, regardless of the field they work in, but the human services sector appears to demonstrate a strong correlation between the level of client vulnerability and the incidences of isomorphism.
