And departing thence, I passed on through many a city and many a town towards the east, until I came to that noble city Cambalech ⁴ , an old city of that famous 216province of Cathay ¹ . The Tartars took the city, and then 217built another ¹ at a distance of half-a-mile ² , which they called Taydo ³ .
