ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the case study that addresses the envision phase of Business Transformation Management (BTM) with the following steps, identification of scope and a rough project plan, examination of triggers and drivers for the planned business transformation, evaluation of benefits of the objectives from a strategic perspective and definition of a transformation plan. The case study is built on the company background. The company originated from the merger of Premium Drive and Cheap Vehicle, two German automotive companies, in 2000. The human and intellectual capital and, thereby, the recruitment, professional development and retention of motivated and high-performing employees was perceived as crucial for MotorStars success. Across the organization, a global HR information system would provide accurate data on jobs, positions and related information in order to support the organization and talent review processes. The governance structure insists on effective collaboration between local as well as global IT and HR teams. The HR IT implementation team comprises both global and local employees.
