ABSTRACT

The author told people about his epiphany, when at the Hay Book Festival in May 2012 he heard for the first time about anti-fragility. He realised then that this was potentially the most important change in management thinking that he had come across in his 40-year career as a business academic, consultant and trainer. Anti-fragility is a paradigm shift of enormous dimensions. It takes time to spread and to get establish. It is important that this happens, and as quickly as possible, because every day organisations needlessly fail, needlessly wasting resources, human spirit and opportunity. Some can be saved and anti-fragility gives you a language to discuss it. Hopefully, by now you realise that it would be against anti-fragility principles for these to really be the author's final thoughts. The author continues to learns and apply that learning in implementing improvement, as people get stressed by the practical challenges of implementation.
