ABSTRACT
Divorce is intricately linked with the family and has been widely studied, both in terms of causes and consequences. The ways in which the family has been conceptualised has greatly influenced studies of divorce. With changes in family forms and structures, the notion of divorce has also seen shifting perspectives which have led to changing ideas, research methodologies, outcomes and interpretations.
