ABSTRACT

Social and ecological responsibility are touchstones for corporate reputation. Reputation depends on the economic performance of the organisation and its product brands but is distilled into a deeper level of trust. The search for ways to build reputation has taken many companies into the realm of corporate social responsibility (CSR). This chapter sees reputation as having increasing importance for companies in crowded and competitive global markets. The purpose of Good Corporation is to help businesses to establish and implement effective corporate responsibility practices throughout their organisation. Good Corporation has a list of consultants trained to assist in preparing submissions; as verifiers Good Corporation cannot offer consultancy services. Business in the Community is an enabler not a holding company; its purpose is to inspire, challenge, engage and support business in continually improving its positive impact on society. The chapter helps to build a better society, through encouraging greater corporate social responsibility and helping to create more prosperous communities.
