ABSTRACT
If we are fortunate in our lifetime we visit certain places, whether near to home or far away, that evoke the sacred in us. These places differ from our usual environment in some magical, powerful and often inexpressible way because they resonate with something in our deeper self, and challenge our beliefs by their mere presence. They create such awe that we come away feeling that we have glimpsed something very special and unique, and by extension, this experience may even restore our sense of wonder in the world.
