ABSTRACT
This chapter examines some of the limitations of using any theory as an explanatory
mechanism for understanding the social world human beings occupy. These limits
do not just relate to problems in application for the reasons discussed throughout
the book, but also relate to issues in philosophy and epistemology concerning the
nature of philosophical pursuit and the problems of defining and/or describing any
foundational explanations of human behaviour and relations.
