ABSTRACT

To I[nstitute of] I[nternational] A[ffairs] to hear [H.A.L.] Fisher on the League of Nations. It was curious to see him, as he stood before us – the man whom I had introduced to Lloyd George and, in that sense, placed him where he now stands. 1 Of course, I was only the connecting wire of the telephone, but even that humble instrument has its uses.
