ABSTRACT
After penning such a provocative Introduction, the remainder of this book seeks to better situate the use of visual methods (photography and video) within the context of applied and academic research. In the following chapter the author aims to provide a more persuasive argument alongside a more measured account of how and why visual research may be appropriately considered within the various disciplines of the social sciences, humanities and, especially, within applied sociological inquiries of contemporary issues.
