ABSTRACT

This chapter summarises our findings and makes suggestions for the future. Higher education has two roles according to the main international bodies in the area. First, it should prepare students for the world of work and for operating in and supporting the economy. Then it prepares students for society and the economy by encouraging the development of relevant values. The findings indicate that our service-learning modules can encourage encourage the development of a range of knowledge and skills learning. Students here learn more about communications, team working, organisation, management, time management, event management, interpersonal, negotiation, project management, networking, and other topics. They also can encourage confidence and a sense of responsibility and an understanding of others and a capacity to be concerned for or care for those in need. These values and qualities can help prepare students for the economy and society.
