ABSTRACT
This chapter talks about cloud computing, big data and digital strategy. The MIT Sloan Management Review and Capgemini Consulting conducted a survey of executives and managers in a variety of industries worldwide to gauge their feelings on technology as it related to their businesses. Fifty-three percent of respondents said the top cultural barrier to digital transformation was competing priorities. Clearly the idea of digital transformation within a company is simpler than digging into the often-messy details of such a sea change. But in the digital world, companies need to gird themselves for the effort or risk being left behind. Return on investment (ROI) is the concept of an investment of some resource yielding a benefit to the investor. A high ROI means the investment gains compare favorably to investment cost.
