ABSTRACT
Airport development is important to facilitate air transport in remoter areas. Local airports are facing new challenges because of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 14 regulations, new types of aircraft and updated navigation systems such as SCAT-1. Some of the bigger regional airports act as hubs, linking remoter local airports and trunk domestic and international routes.
