ABSTRACT

The current research agenda on globalization has brought the issue of state sovereignty at the center of theoretical and analytical considerations in international relations and international law. Debate among realist, liberal interdependence, and critical theorists has rescued the concept of sovereignty from its abstract, arcane and sterile treatment in the fields of international law and political philosophy and infused it with new meaning, theoretical significance, and practical relevance in today’s increasingly globalized world (Walker, 1988).
