ABSTRACT

This chapter offers a brief recap of our inquiry and begins to search for this answer as to why Jung rejects Kierkegaard. Having concluded that the rejection has no credence in a clash of philosophy, here a more comprehensive comparison between their personalities and character traits is embarked upon since both Kierkegaard and Jung both exhibited flagrant displays of narcissism, aggressiveness and ambition. Not only does Kierkegaard contain the less noble of Jung’s own characteristics, there is reason to speculate that in the figure of Kierkegaard Jung would have seen his own father.
