ABSTRACT
Some years earlier, Sam Wanamaker, the leader and inspiration of this rebuilding, had seen my production of Cymbeline for the Berkeley Shakespeare Festival, and since it was both a performance that went on in the afternoon without any lighting and was in the open air (and I presume that he liked it), he asked me to join the theatre committee of the Globe.
