ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explores various essential characteristics that have traditionally been fundamental to the identity of architects. It looks at Greek mythology to find a foundation or origin for these traits that have relevance for contemporary architectural practice. The book discusses topics such as questioning, reasoning, and analysis that can be considered components of critical thinking. Skills in critical thinking were important to architects of the past and are continually relevant. Architects are continually required to make important decisions that directly affect the way people will live, and the many decisions made throughout the design process must support this responsibility. Architects must be continually conscious of their role as leaders and must comprehend their related responsibility to the environment. Fortunately, leadership roles come naturally to architects.
