ABSTRACT
A critic might object that it is not the fault of the present generation if future generations do not divide up the legacy we bequeath them equally among themselves. Because future inequality is not our responsibilityone could maintain-we do not have a duty to do more for our descendants than would be necessary if they were to live in equality.
