ABSTRACT

The UK Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) was founded to design and deliver the London 2012 Olympic Park project for hosting the London 2012 Games (Davies and Mackenzie, 2014). Although the economy of the UK was declining at that time and there was severe public scrutiny and interest, the project was still completed within budget and before the forecast complete date. In 2006, the ODA decided to apply the NEC3 suite of contracts to most of its programme and utilise the NEC’s spirit to maintain a healthy relationship between itself and CLM, its delivery partner for the projects (Davies and Mackenzie, 2014).
