ABSTRACT
Most current theories of human visual information processing and selective attention agree about a number of distinct processing stages in which sensory information is analyzed and/or transformed prior to the emission of responses. The theories disagree, however, with regard to two basic issues: (1) the limited capacity (LC) versus unlimited capacity (UC) processing issue, and (2) the early versus late selection issue.
