ABSTRACT
Intimate partner violence (IPV) is violence committed by a spouse, ex-spouse, or current or former boyfriend or girlfriend. IPV occurs among both heterosexual and same-sex couples. It is oen a repeated oense. It can occur to both men and women, but the literature indicates that women among heterosexual or same-sex couples are much more likely than men to suer physical, and probably psychological, injuries from IPV.
